Newgrounds is not screwing up society. Society was screwed up well before we came around. We're part of the solution, not the problem (most of us, anyway). PROTECT FREE SPEECH! (Please note: I don't give away 5's.)

NG Access in China

Posted by Mike27112 Apr. 1, 2009 @ 3:37 PM EDT

For what it's worth...

The last time I was in China (February 2006), I was able to access NG normally. Not sure why, as I am not familiar with how the "Great Firewall of China" works, but accessing NG wasn't a problem for me.

That said, I am sure that many others have been blocked from NG in China, and that's pretty lame. Freedom of speech (including unfettered internet access) is not a guaranteed right in China, and a ban on websites like Newgrounds is one of the consequences.

I hope this serves as a reminder to all those who are fortunate enough to enjoy freedom of speech to not take it for granted.
